Spark, from Readdle, is a popular mail app on Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows, with team inboxes, shared drafts and AI. GotEmail is a native Mac app for one person with several addresses. If you use Spark only on your Mac and only for your own mail, the two cover a lot of the same ground. The differences are in where your mail goes, how you pay and what you get on top.

Where your mail goes
Spark's privacy policy says most data is processed on your device, and that shared emails, shared drafts and emails scheduled to send later are processed on Readdle's servers. That's what makes its team features and cross-device sync work.
GotEmail takes the other path. There is no GotEmail server and no GotEmail account. Send Later runs on your Mac: if the Mac was off at the scheduled time, the message goes as soon as GotEmail opens. Passwords stay in the macOS Keychain. Only an AI draft or summary leaves your Mac, and only when you ask for one; with your own key, it goes straight to your AI provider.
Paying for it
Spark's free plan is generous, and its paid plans are priced per user per year, aimed at professionals and teams. GotEmail has one product with every feature on every plan: $6.99 a month or $79 a year, or Lifetime, a single payment that keeps every update. Lifetime is $79 for the next 100 customers, then $199. One plan covers all your Macs.
Sign-in codes and the small things
GotEmail finds verification codes and magic links and puts them one click away: beside the subject, in a banner over whatever app is in front, and in the menu bar for 15 minutes. Add labels that span every account, Gmail-style single-key shortcuts, one-click Unsubscribe and read receipts in Activity, and the day-to-day gets quicker.

Questions
Is GotEmail a good Spark alternative for Mac?
If you use Spark on a Mac for your own mail, yes: GotEmail has a unified inbox for several accounts, AI drafts and summaries, Send Later, Snooze and one-click Unsubscribe. It doesn't have Spark's team features or apps for other platforms.
Does GotEmail use its own servers like Spark?
No. GotEmail connects your Mac directly to your mail provider. Send Later, notifications and sync all run on your Mac. Only AI requests leave it, and only when you ask for a draft or a summary.
Can I move from Spark to GotEmail?
Yes. Your mail lives with your provider, not in either app, so you add the same accounts in GotEmail and everything is there: folders, Sent, Drafts.
How do the prices compare?
Spark has a free plan and paid plans per user (Plus at $99 a year, Pro at $199 a year on its pricing page as of October 2026). GotEmail is $6.99 a month or $79 a year, or Lifetime for a one-time payment ($79 for the next 100 customers, then $199).
