- NewMore room to read. Scroll down in a message and its header gathers into one bar at the top: the subject, who sent it and when, with Translate and Unsubscribe as small buttons at its end. Scroll back to the top and the full header returns. Short messages keep their header as it is.

Version 0.9
2 releases- NewA new conversation view. Messages are grouped by day. Each day's messages sit together, and a message opens right where it is, with an arrow to fold it again; its Reply, Forward and other buttons sit next to Translate. You can show conversations oldest first or newest first (Settings → Reading).
- NewSmooth message changes. When you open another message it slides in from the side it's on, or fades in with a short push (the default). Choose Slide, Short Push or None in Settings → Reading.
- ImprovedNew-mail alerts arrive sooner. The new message's preview is fetched first and the alert follows right away, ahead of other background work.
- NewMove to Folder… (⇧⌘M, or V in the Gmail shortcuts). Type part of a folder's name and press Return to move the selected mail there.
- NewMark all as read with three clicks. Double-click a folder in the sidebar and its name turns into "Mark All as Read?". Click it once more, confirm, and everything in it is read, here and on the server. It's on by default; turn it off in Settings → Reading.
- NewGroup the list by sender or by domain (Settings → Reading). Each sender gets one row with a count of their messages; click it to see them all.
- NewA light sidebar: Settings → Appearance → Sidebar in Light. Custom colours also get six pale sidebar shades.
- NewEmpty Trash and Empty Spam from the top of the list. In Trash or Spam, a red bin empties the folder after you confirm; in All Trash or All Spam it empties every account's at once.
- NewCompact rows: show only the sender and the subject in the list (Settings → Appearance → Message List).
- NewUnread mail that stands out. Choose how unread mail looks: a dot, a dot and bold text, or the new default, bold on a soft wash of your accent colour.
- NewChoose the notch's buttons. Pick the two buttons on new mail in the notch: Mark as Read, Archive, Delete or None (Settings → Notifications).
- NewArchived and deleted mail is marked read on its way, so an unread message you archive or delete isn't counted in Trash. You can turn this off in Settings → Reading.
- NewSpacemail is a built-in provider, and typing a port now picks the security that goes with it.
- ImprovedThe app menu moved to the bottom of the left strip, under the appearance switch, so it's there even with the sidebar hidden.
- ImprovedLong conversations stay readable. Quoted history folds behind "•••" from the start, and wide tables are held to the window, so the text is no longer shrunk to fit.
- ImprovedAdding an account is clearer: you see which step of the outgoing server didn't answer, and each step gets a full minute. If only sending failed, Add Anyway keeps the account.
- ImprovedTranslate skips the quoted history and translates only what's new.
- FixedOpening a message in a conversation no longer blinks, and HTML messages no longer jump a few points after they appear.
Version 0.8
2 releases- FixedGotEmail no longer freezes when you open a message or a conversation with dark colours (the Dark appearance, or your own colours on a dark background). The sun and moon button by each message read the whole message again every time the window was drawn; now it doesn't.
- FixedConversations open and change faster: the list and its conversations are worked out once for each change, not again for every part of the window that shows them.
- NewSwipe actions on the mail list. Swipe two fingers across a message: to the right for Read/Unread and Star, to the left for Delete and Archive; a full swipe does the first. Choose three buttons for each side in Settings → Swipe Actions: Read/Unread, Star, Pin, Archive, Delete, Move To, Snooze or Move to Spam.
- NewPull to refresh: pull the list down past its top and let go to check for new mail. You can turn it off in Settings → Swipe Actions.
- NewA screenshot of a message (Beta): the screenshot button by a message's date, or Message → Screenshot…. One message on its own, without the conversation it quotes, as a card on a sky. Turn words into stars, highlight them, cover them with a black bar, blur pictures and add your own text. Hide Personal Details stars every address, phone number and name at once. Light or Dark, then Copy, Save or Share.
- NewPrint (⌘P), from the Message menu or a message's right-click menu. To save a message as a PDF, use the PDF menu in the print panel.
- NewQuick reply in the notch: answer a new message right from the notch. A bar fills while it waits to go, with Undo, then it says Sent.
- NewUndo Send from any app: send a message and switch to another app, and the notch shows the wait with Undo.
- NewOpens in the notch: the first time someone opens a message you track, the notch tells you, once, not again for every open. Activity still lists them all.
- NewDrop a file on the notch to start a new message with it attached. Drop it on one of the three people you wrote to last, and the message goes to them.
- NewFill for login codes: in the notch, Fill types the code into the code field in front of you. macOS asks once for the Accessibility permission.
- NewA message in the notch's list opens in place, with its first lines, its actions and a quick reply. Click it again to open it in GotEmail.
- NewArchive, Delete and Send give a light tap on the trackpad. Turn it off in Settings → General.
- NewMove To shows only the folders you choose: Choose Folders…, or Hide from Move To on a folder. The others wait under More Folders.
- New⌘A selects every message in the folder you're in, to delete all of your spam at once, for example.
- NewShow only unread mail wherever unread mail waits: each account's Inbox, Spam, your own folders, labels and Starred.
- NewIn the composer, Escape closes the message, asking whether to save it if you wrote something; ⌘V attaches files copied in Finder, and pictures.
- NewProton Mail Bridge works: GotEmail connects to the Bridge on your Mac.
- ImprovedNew Message sits at the top of the sidebar, with Draft with AI beside it. Add Account is in the Settings menu.
- ImprovedThe mail list is smoother: scrolling, hovering, swiping and new mail no longer hold it up.
- ImprovedIn a conversation, each message shows who it went to and who was in Cc.
- ImprovedA login code says where it came from: "American Express · americanexpress.com.sg".
- FixedArchiving, reading or deleting a message right as it arrives, from the notch for example, now always reaches your mail server. It could stay in the server's inbox, keep the red number on the Dock icon, and come back after GotEmail restarted.
- FixedTwo conversations with the same subject no longer become one because someone was copied on both, like two customers' refund requests with your payment provider in Cc.
- FixedConversations show the other side's replies even after you archived them, not only your own.
- FixedRight-clicking a message in the list opens its menu every time.
- FixedAmerican Express (US): the login code is copied, not your first name.
- FixedGmail: "Couldn't load older messages: Extended search failed" no longer appears, and older mail loads.
Version 0.7
4 releases- FixedGotEmail no longer uses a lot of the processor (40% and more) while it sits in the background: the moving light around the AI inputs now rests while you're in another app, and draws more lightly while you're in GotEmail.
- NewNew mail in the notch. While you're in another app, a new message opens out of the notch at the top of the screen (on a screen without one, out of the middle of the menu bar). Hover over it to read it, reply, mark it read, archive or delete it without leaving what you're doing.
- NewLogin codes and sign-in links in the notch: a code shows the moment it arrives, ready to copy with one click; a sign-in link opens with one.
- NewRest the pointer on the notch to see your latest mail, or only what's unread (Settings → Notifications → Recent mail), and deal with it right there. When you've dealt with all of it, the notch says so: That's everything.
- NewSettings → Notifications: new mail in the notch, as notifications, or both, with Try It to see an example message, code and link. To keep the notch closed during a Focus, add GotEmail's filter to it in System Settings → Focus.
- NewThe notch stays out of screenshots, recordings and shared screens, so a call never sees who wrote. To show it off, turn on Show in screenshots and recordings.
- FixedDrafts: Continue Editing on a reply's draft opened the message it answers, and saving it could delete that message. It now opens the draft itself, and nothing outside Drafts is ever replaced by a draft.
- FixedWhile you write, the arrow keys move the cursor again instead of going to the next message, and no key acts on the list.
- FixedIn Dark Mode, a forwarded or quoted message's own colours (navy, black) no longer make the composer unreadable. What you send keeps them.
- FixedNew mail arrives without Refresh: a mailbox whose live connection dropped is watched again on its own, checked more often meanwhile, and checked when you come back to the app. Read receipts show up the same way.
- FixedA message you read no longer turns unread again, two or three times, after it was read.
- FixedAfter Delete or Archive, the next message is the one where you were, not one near the top. With Show Unread Mail, it is the next unread one.
- FixedA message's text no longer opens tiny the first time you open it.
- FixedReplying to an older message no longer moves its conversation to the top of the inbox.
- FixedAfter a busy day away, the older mail stays in the list, labelled mail among it: up to ten pages of new mail are taken in above it.
- ImprovedFewer, calmer messages. A moment's trouble with the network or a server (a timeout, a dropped connection, a busy server) is tried again quietly and not shown; only what lasts is said, in grey. What needs you, like a refused password, is still shown in red.
- FixedMicrosoft accounts wait out Microsoft's "slow down" instead of failing, and older pages in Gmail and Yahoo and Gmail's mark as read recover from a dropped connection.
- NewText Size in Settings → Appearance makes the whole app bigger: the sidebar, the list, messages, the composer and Settings, with their icons. Bigger Text (⌘+) still sizes a message on top of it.
- NewWith more than one account, a chevron beside All Inboxes lists each account's inbox under it.
- NewEvery account's invitations in one calendar: Settings → Reading → Each account in its own calendar puts them in a calendar per account, each in its own colour, so Calendar shows them together and tells them apart.
- NewFiles in templates: attach files to a template (Attach Files, or drop them on it), and a message made from it carries them.
- ImprovedSent is said once, on the Send button, not again in a toast. The system's buttons keep your Mac's accent colour unless your own colours are on.
- NewApple Intelligence: on a Mac with it turned on (macOS 26 and later), drafts, summaries and suggested replies are written on your Mac by Apple's model, your mail never leaving it. What it can't do, a long conversation or a language it doesn't speak, GotEmail's AI writes, included with your license.
- NewTranslate, above every message: Apple's translation on your Mac, into the language you choose in Settings → Reading or your Mac's own. Show Original brings the message back.
- NewA rail left of the sidebar: All Inboxes, Contacts, Notes and Templates at the top, then one mark per provider with its unread count. A provider narrows every mailbox to its accounts. A light/dark switch at its foot.
- NewNotes and Templates. Notes stay on your Mac (and reach your iPhone through sync); a template starts a new message with its subject and text. Select words in a message and right-click to add them to Notes or save them as a template.
- NewThe composer opens in the right card, where the message was, with its actions along the bottom; Open in Window puts it in a window of its own. Send counts down in its own button, with Undo there, then says Sending… and Sent before the card closes.
- NewSummaries in the language you choose: Settings → AI → Summaries in. And AI can be turned off entirely in Settings → AI → Use AI: off, nothing of it shows.
- NewColours of your own: Settings → Appearance → Custom, with an accent, a sidebar colour and a card colour. The rail's switch has a third position for them.
- NewAll Archive among the unified mailboxes (Settings → Appearance → Sidebar), every account listed under All Inboxes again, each opened with its chevron, and a pin on a folder's row that keeps it among the mailboxes at the top.
- NewStar one message of a conversation on its own, from its row in the thread. Search mail from a sender with a right-click on their address above a message. A double-click on an image in a message opens it in Preview.
- NewGmail's own signature fills in when you add a Google account, unless you type one. With several accounts, choose which new messages are sent from in Settings → Accounts; otherwise From starts empty.
- ImprovedDrawn avatars are off by default: a sender without an icon shows their initials. Turn the figures on in Settings → Appearance. Sender icons are shown whole, rounded, without a ring.
- ImprovedSidebar rows light under the pointer. The rail is wider, so the window's traffic lights sit over it rather than over the sidebar's edge.
- FixedMicrosoft: older messages would not load ("Query option '$select' was specified more than once").
- FixediCloud: an Inbox that would not load because one message's envelope could not be read now loads, its listing read from the headers instead.
- FixedA message read in GotEmail came back unread two or three times on Gmail.
- FixedAfter a delete or an archive the next message selected is the next row in the list, not one near the top.
- FixedKeyboard shortcuts typed in the Settings window no longer act on the mail behind it.
- FixedAttachments with no file extension open and preview; two attachments of one message with the same name no longer share a file.
- FixedRows lit at launch with no pointer on them, a flash behind the selected row when a screen opened, and a summary whose line spacing changed once it had finished streaming.
Version 0.6
2 releases- FixedBigger Text and Smaller Text (⌘+ and ⌘−) now work in every message at every step: the words grow and the message keeps its layout, newsletters too. The default size is unchanged.
- NewContacts, in the sidebar: everyone you have written to or heard from, with how often and how lately, and their recent messages both ways. Writing a message, the people you write to most are suggested first as you type.
- NewSearch everything with ⌘K: every account and every folder at once, as you type, each result with the account and folder it is in. The search field over the list works as before, and All Inboxes now looks in the folders inside your inboxes too.
- NewCalendar invitations show at the top of the message, with the time in your time zone and the meeting link. Add to Calendar puts the event in your calendar.
- NewA conversation can read as a chat: Thread or Chat at its top right, your messages on one side and everyone else's on the other, without the quoted history.
- NewUnread counts next to every folder, account and group in the sidebar, as your mail server counts them, so mail not loaded yet counts too.
- NewBigger Text and Smaller Text for messages, with ⌘+ and ⌘−, in the View menu.
- NewActivity shows the time of every open and every click of the mail you send, not only the latest.
- NewSenders without a picture get a drawn avatar of their own on a soft colour, the same for them every time.
- NewMessages in Dark Mode, in Settings → Appearance: mail written without colours of its own turns dark, designed mail such as receipts and newsletters is softened instead of glaring white, and the sun and moon by a message switch it.
- ImprovedAn account has Your Name, which the people you write to see, and a Description, which only you see in the sidebar. Choose a description in Edit Account if your name shows as "Gmail" or "Work".
- ImprovedA message to many people folds its list of recipients ("and 46 more"), so the message itself stays in view.
- ImprovedThe newest message of a conversation can be folded too, and the quick reply grows to several lines for a long reply.
- ImprovedWords pasted into a message take the message's own look, so text copied from a dark window is no longer invisible to whoever reads it. Unread dots are easier to see.
- FixedSuggest Replies works again, and its suggestions answer the newest message alone, not the conversation it quotes or your own reply.
- FixedChoosing another account's address in From brings that account's signature.
- FixedLine breaks in email links from other apps, such as a CRM's prepared messages, are kept.
- FixedA hidden Dock icon stays hidden after you click a notification, and closing GotEmail's window gives the keyboard back to the app you were in, so Escape works there again.
Version 0.5
5 releases- NewSync with iPhone, in Settings → Sync. Your accounts with their passwords, your labels and pinned messages, your settings and Activity stay the same in GotEmail on your Mac and your iPhone. Scan the code it shows with your iPhone once. Everything travels sealed with a key only your devices have.
- NewWith sync on, opens and clicks of the mail you send from your Mac also reach your iPhone as notifications.
- FixedSearching your mail no longer keeps spinning: every account is searched at once, and what one finds shows as soon as it answers.
- FixedLabels no longer disappear from your messages after a refresh. Labels lost this way come back from your mail server once you update.
- FixedIn All Inboxes, a message that reached two of your accounts is archived, deleted or read in both, instead of staying in the list as the other account's copy.
- NewA quick reply waits a few seconds before it goes, with Undo, like a message from the compose window. Undo puts your text back in the line.
- FixedActivity no longer says an older email was opened when someone opens a newer one that quotes it, or when you read your own sent mail.
- ImprovedAn email opened again and again is one notification and one line in Activity, with how many times it was opened.
- FixedSome messages in a conversation were cut off partway down, often in the signature. They now show in full, and stay in full as their images arrive.
- FixedA short message opened after a long one no longer leaves a tall empty space under it.
- NewThe up and down arrow keys go to the previous and next message while you read one, not only when the message list has the keyboard.
- ImprovedSuggest Replies sits over the middle of the quick reply and asks the AI only when you click it, never on its own.
- ImprovedNew icons for Suggest Replies and for the quick reply's AI mode.
- NewWhere you ask the AI (the quick reply in AI mode, the Let's write an email screen, Draft with AI in a new message), a soft light now glides along the inside of the box, and burns brighter while the AI writes. It stays still if you have Reduce Motion on.
- NewThe AI's send buttons are in brushed metal under glass, their chrome rim catching the light as it turns.
- ImprovedActivity is a bell, with a red count of the opens, clicks and read receipts that came since you last looked.
- FixedUnsubscribe was missing on newsletters that only have an unsubscribe link at the bottom; it now opens that link.
- FixedOn Outlook and Microsoft 365 accounts, a message whose list details could not be read is asked about again the next time you open it, so Unsubscribe shows up.
- NewSend Later: schedule a message from the compose window (later today, tomorrow morning, next week, or any time you choose). It waits in Scheduled, where you can send it now, edit it or delete it; if your Mac was off at that time, it goes as soon as GotEmail opens.
- NewSnooze: put a message away until later today, tomorrow, the weekend or a time you choose. It waits in a Snoozed folder on your mail server and comes back to where it was, unread.
- NewTracking & Activity, off until you turn it on in Settings: learn when the mail you send is opened and which of its links are clicked, and ask for read receipts. Each one shows in Activity, at the top right of a message, and as a notification.
- NewTracking pixels in the mail you receive are blocked, even when images load, so senders can't see when you open their mail. A message says how many it carried.
- NewUnsubscribe above mail from a mailing list: one click, and GotEmail tells the list the way the list asks.
- NewSuggested replies: a few short answers written by AI above the quick reply. Click one to put it in the line, then send or change it.
- NewA new Settings window, laid out like System Settings, with the settings grouped: General, Appearance, Accounts, Reading, Privacy, Tracking & Activity, AI and more.
- NewChoose when a message counts as read: when you select it, after 3 seconds, only when you open it in its own window, or never (Settings → Reading).
- NewA dark app icon for the dark appearance on macOS 26.
- ImprovedFaster everywhere: messages open from a view that is ready before you click, the first page and every unread message are fetched ahead, and your mail is kept in a local database. Outlook and Microsoft 365 accounts use Microsoft's own connection (Graph); an account added before this needs Edit Account → Sign In Again once.
- ImprovedChecking for new mail shows a thin blue bar under the mailbox's title, and rows light up under the pointer.
- ImprovedIn Show Unread, a message you read leaves the list once you choose another one.
- ImprovedStar and Pin moved from the message toolbar to the right-click menu (their shortcuts still work); the toolbar's right side now has the summary, read or unread, and Activity.
- FixedAfter your Mac wakes, the message list no longer sits empty and loading: every account reconnects at once, and a server that doesn't answer is asked again over a fresh connection.
- FixedStarred mail in some Outlook folders could not be listed.
- FixedA long error message no longer pushes the message list out of view.
- FixedNotifications for mail you have read, archived or deleted are taken down.
Version 0.4
11 releases- NewAll Sent, All Drafts, All Spam and All Trash, every account's folder together as All Inboxes is: turn on the ones you want in Settings → General → Sidebar.
- NewThe sidebar lists accounts by provider (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, IMAP…), each group a section that folds.
- FixedShow Unread: a message you open stays on the list until you change mailbox or turn the mode off, so it no longer vanishes as you click it. The mode is remembered across launches.
- FixedA signature pasted as HTML (a table, a paragraph, a styled block) was kept as text; it keeps its HTML now. Its logo from the web shows while you write, as do images in a quoted message when Load images in messages is on.
- ImprovedStarred, labels and the unified mailboxes say which account each message is from.
- NewDouble-click a message or a conversation in the list to open it in a window of its own, with its actions and the quick reply.
- NewUndo and Redo: ⌘Z and ⇧⌘Z take back Archive, Delete, Move, Move to Spam, Mark as Read or Unread, Star, Pin and labels, on the server too.
- New⌘↩ sends, in a compose window and in the quick reply. The key is yours to change in Settings → Shortcuts, as Send Message.
- FixedA message kept in several folders (Inbox and All Mail on Gmail, Starred, Important) showed in its conversation once per folder, an order confirmation four times over. It shows once.
- FixedWeb and email addresses written as plain text in a message are links now, in HTML and plain-text messages alike.
- FixedA message that leaves its font to the reader is set in the system font, not in Times.
- FixedIn the dark appearance, pulling a message past its end no longer shows a light band.
- ImprovedA line between the accounts in the sidebar.
- ImprovedLess redrawing while mail syncs: the list no longer threads itself again every time a message's text arrives, and a check that finds nothing new leaves it alone.
- FixedLabels stay put on a message that lives in several folders, like Inbox and All Mail on Gmail: its copies no longer turn a label on and off in turn as the folders are read.
- FixedA label put on while a folder that can't carry labels was being read is no longer lost: it goes to the server with the next folder that can.
- ImprovedMove Accounts to iPhone: scanning the code on a phone without GotEmail shows how to get it.
- NewMove Accounts to iPhone: every account goes to GotEmail on your iPhone with one scan, passwords included. In the menu under Settings.
- NewLabels travel between your devices through the mail server, invisible in webmail: a label you put on in GotEmail for Mac shows on your iPhone, and the other way round. Gmail, iCloud and most IMAP servers carry them; Outlook keeps labels on the device.
- FixedSharp on a non-Retina display. Dragging the divider between panes could leave the message list half a point off the pixel grid, which blurred its text and icons on a 1x screen (and the sidebar's icons with it). Pane widths are whole points now, and so are the list's rows.
- FixedThe window no longer drops behind every other app's windows when you switch away from it. It behaves like any window now, and comes back where you left it.
- ImprovedA mail server that does not answer right after the Mac wakes (an office network coming back late, say) is tried once more before anything is said. If it answers the second time, no banner shows.
- ImprovedFaster. The app keeps what it has seen: your folders and the list are on screen the moment it opens, before any server has answered; a refresh asks each server only for what changed since; and the newest messages' text is fetched in the background, so opening one is instant. Messages you have opened are kept too.
- FixedA message laid out wider than the window (most newsletters) is scaled down to fit instead of being cut off at the right, and follows when you resize.
- FixedRight-click an image in a message: Open Image opens it in your browser (or in Preview, for one the message carries) and Save Image… asks where to save it. Neither did anything before.
- NewSettings → General → Organize by conversation: turn it off to see every message on its own line.
- NewSignatures have an HTML button: paste a signature made elsewhere, or edit the code of yours.
- ImprovedThe buttons above a message fold into one Actions menu when the window is narrow, and open up again when there is room. In a thread, each message's line shows the sender only.
- ImprovedWhen a mail server does not answer on its port, the message says what may be blocking it: a VPN, a firewall, an office or hotel network.
- FixedThreads no longer gather strangers. Mail from different people with the same subject, such as feedback sent through the app's form, used to join one conversation because your own address was on all of it. A conversation now needs a sender or recipient in common other than you.
- NewReply to any message in a thread: hover over it, or right-click it, for Reply, Reply All and Forward. The buttons at the top still answer the newest message.
- ImprovedThe AI stays on email. Ask it for a recipe and it writes an email with the recipe in it; ask it the date and it says it only writes email. Goes for the built-in AI and for your own key.
- ImprovedA better model behind the built-in AI: drafts, replies and summaries now come from OpenAI's current gpt-6-luna instead of gpt-4o-mini. With your own OpenAI key, leaving the model field empty means gpt-6.1-sol now, and OpenAI's newer models work with your key.
- NewWriting instructions (Settings → AI): tell the AI once how you write, which language you want summaries in, how you sign off. Goes with every draft, reply and summary.
- NewName the recipient in your request ("write to ana@example.com and ask for the slides") and the draft opens with the To field filled in, in the AI screen and in the compose window.
- ImprovedTest Connection in Settings → AI says which model answered.
- FixedOnboarding in dark mode: the Continue and Finish buttons were white on white. Every step was checked in both appearances.
- ImprovedThe account step of onboarding asks for your first account and says the rest can be added later from the sidebar; its button reads "I'll do this later" until an account is in. With many accounts the step no longer runs into the buttons.
- ImprovedThe license window, for the rare case of activating a key while one is already active, now wears the same dark design as onboarding.
- NewDraft with AI where you write: the sparkle at the left of the quick reply turns the line into a request ("What should the reply say?") and the AI writes one sentence into it for you to send or change; the compose window's formatting bar ends with Draft with AI, which writes the email above your signature and the quote, and the subject when there is none. Nothing is sent until you send it.
- NewPin to Top: in the message toolbar, the list's right-click menu and the Message menu. Pinned messages and threads lead their list, with a pin before the date.
- NewSignatures with formatting and a logo: Edit Account's Signature is a small editor with bold, italic, underline, links and an image by its web address. After adding an account, an optional signature step comes before the sheet closes.
- NewHide the Dock icon (Settings → General): GotEmail then lives in the menu bar, whose mark opens the window.
- NewClick an address to copy it: the sender's address pill and each To and Cc name in a message, and the From and To pills of an open message in a thread.
- NewAccounts in the sidebar can be put in any order: drag one onto another, or Move Up and Move Down in its menu. Other addresses you send from (aliases, a custom domain) can be added while adding an account, and from the compose window's From row.
- ImprovedThe dark appearance: a message that brings no colours of its own now reads light on dark; a designed newsletter keeps its look. The compose window's editor is dark too, and the AI draft screen's bubbles and buttons follow the appearance.
- ImprovedA thread reads the same from Sent as from the inbox: the replies you received join the messages you sent, and the other way round.
- ImprovedErrors say which account they are about, and Microsoft's "User is authenticated but not connected" is met with a fresh connection and, if it stays, explained in plain words with a link to the setting.
- FixedA reply that had just arrived in a thread could open as "This message has no text" (and Reply opened empty) when the server listed its parts before it could hand them over: GotEmail asks again, and a Load Again button is there if it still comes back empty. A reply arriving while its thread was open now loads at once instead of spinning.
- FixedOutlook, Hotmail and Microsoft 365 accounts no longer ask to sign in again after about three months: Microsoft renews the sign-in with every refresh, and GotEmail now keeps the renewed one.
- ImprovedSettings → AI explains in plain words when a server such as OpenCode Go refuses apps other than coding agents, and offers one-click addresses for OpenRouter, Groq, Ollama and LM Studio.
Version 0.3
3 releases- FixedVPNs: when the network changes, a VPN coming up or going down, a new Wi-Fi, GotEmail now reconnects at once instead of showing a DNS error until its next check. A load that fails because the server's name could not be found is tried again a few times over the following seconds, and if it still fails the message says what happened in plain words.
- ImprovedThe sidebar's Labels section folds away and back with a click on its heading, and stays the way you left it.
- ImprovedIn the menu bar's menu, the unread line opens the GotEmail window.
- NewLogin codes and magic links: when a message carries a one-time code or a sign-in link, it sits to the right of the subject as a pill, one click copies the code or opens the link. The menu bar's menu starts with the codes that just arrived, and a code that arrives while you are in another app shows as a pill at the bottom of the screen: click to copy, without leaving what you were doing.
- NewKeyboard shortcuts, your way: Settings → Shortcuts. Keep GotEmail's ⌘ keys, switch to Gmail's single keys (C to write, R to reply, E to archive, # to delete, J and K to move through the list) or set your own.
- NewLabels: Work, Personal, Newsletters, Purchases, Social, Promotions, and any you add. Put them on messages from the toolbar, the right-click menu or by dragging onto the label in the sidebar; click a label to see everything that carries it. Labels stay on this Mac.
- NewAppearance: light, dark, or follow the Mac, in Settings → General. The sidebar stays dark; your mail takes the appearance you choose.
- NewGotEmail in the menu bar: its mark with your unread count, for every inbox or one account, and a menu to open the window, write, check for mail and reach Settings. Turn it off in Settings → General.
- FixedIn a conversation, the open message now shows the sender's address next to their name.
Version 0.2
1 release- NewOutlook.com, Hotmail, Live and Microsoft 365 accounts: choose Outlook when adding an account and sign in with Microsoft on Microsoft's own page. Work and personal accounts alike, custom domains included. GotEmail keeps only the sign-in Microsoft gives it, in your keychain.
- FixedMail sent from an Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 account no longer shows twice in the thread: Microsoft keeps its own copy in Sent, so the app no longer adds one.
Version 0.1
10 releases- FixedImages that some senders put inline, such as photos sent from a phone, and images too large to show inside the message, were neither in the message nor in its attachments. They are now listed as attachments, so they open with Quick Look and can be saved.
- ImprovedSend Feedback now opens a new message from your own account to support, with the app and macOS versions under your text, so it arrives from your address and we can reply straight back. The small form stays for before you have added an account.
- NewMake GotEmail your default mail app, in Settings → General and at the end of the welcome steps: email links in Safari and other apps open a new message in GotEmail, with the address, subject and text filled in.
- Fixed"Couldn't sign in: Operation timed out" now says what happened and what to try: which server did not answer on which port, a server name that does not exist, a refused connection, or a Mac that is offline. Work, school and hotel networks, VPNs and security software often block the mail ports (993 and 587); the message says so, and for the outgoing server it suggests port 465 where the provider offers it.
- ImprovedAn account that cannot connect shows the short form of the same reason in the sidebar.
- FixedA reply you send now shows in the thread and in Sent right away, instead of at the next check.
- NewBring any OpenAI-compatible server as your AI: OpenRouter, Groq, Mistral, a local Ollama or LM Studio, or your own model. Settings → AI → OpenAI-compatible (custom), with its address and model.
- ImprovedAdding an account: the providers show their own marks; the page for a provider says in one line what it needs and lists the three steps to an app password under the fields, with a link to the page. Server settings are proper sections, always open for Other (IMAP).
- ImprovedWhat's New and the license screen use the Mac's own buttons.
- FixedGmail: a message with very long headers (hundreds of recipients, dozens of parts) no longer sinks the inbox load, the previews after the first batch, or Load older. It is listed as too long to show until you open it on the web.
- FixedA quick reply's text now reaches the recipient and shows in the thread. It went in the plain-text part only; mail apps show the HTML part.
- ImprovedMark All as Read and Empty Trash work on the whole folder in one command, however large it is.
- NewBring your own AI: add an OpenAI or Anthropic API key in Settings → AI, and drafts and summaries go straight to that provider on your own account. Without a key, GotEmail's AI answers as before.
- NewUndo send: a message waits five seconds, with Undo in the toast, before it goes. Taking it back reopens it.
- NewMark All as Read and Empty Trash, in the Message menu and in a folder's context menu.
- NewAdding an account starts with the provider, then a guide to its app password with a button to the page where you make one. Server settings are filled in and folded away.
- NewZoho accounts in Europe, India, Australia, Japan or Canada: pick the region and the servers follow.
- ImprovedImages in messages load by default; turn that off in Settings → General to keep them hidden until you ask.
- Improved⌘⌫ deletes the selected messages. A new message or a forward starts typing in To; a reply, in the body.
- FixedA message that arrived while the app was open, or was opened from a notification, could sit in a row too short for it, cut off by the row below.
- ImprovedWhen a provider refuses the password, the account form now says what to do in plain words (Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, AOL, Fastmail and Zoho all need an app password, not the account password) and opens the page where you make one.
- NewAOL is a preset: pick it and the servers are filled in.
- ImprovedOutlook.com, Hotmail, Live and Microsoft 365 addresses get a note before Connect: Microsoft only allows its own sign-in, which is coming in a later update.
- NewSend from any of your account's addresses. Add them under "Also send as" in Edit Account (a custom domain on iCloud+, a Gmail "send mail as" address): they appear in the From menu, and a reply to mail sent to one of them goes out from it.
- ImprovedThe welcome screen now says what GotEmail does, AI included.
- FixedSmall fixes after launch. This is also the first update delivered through the app.
- NewThe first release of GotEmail: every IMAP account in one window, conversations, search, a Starred mailbox, and a notification the moment mail arrives.
- NewDraft with AI: describe an email in any language and get a draft to copy, edit or send.
- NewSummarize any message or thread in a few sentences.
- NewA rich text editor for new messages and replies, with attachments by drag and drop.
