Yahoo Mail on your Mac, without the browser.

Yahoo and AOL accounts in a fast, native Mac app, side by side with Gmail, Outlook and iCloud. One app password, and you're in.

Updated October 18, 2026

Yahoo Mail is a great address and a busy web page. GotEmail brings your Yahoo inbox into a calm, native Mac window, next to your other accounts, with notifications the moment mail arrives and no browser tab to keep open. AOL Mail works the same way.

What you get with Yahoo in GotEmail

  • All your accounts in one list. Yahoo, AOL, Gmail, Outlook and iCloud together in All Inboxes.
  • A cleaner inbox. One-click Unsubscribe for mailing lists, and tracking pixels blocked until you allow images.
  • Sign-in codes, one click away, beside the subject and in a banner over any app.
  • AI drafts and summaries, Send Later and Snooze, built in.

Set up Yahoo Mail in GotEmail

Yahoo signs mail apps in with an app password, not your account password:

  1. Open Account Security. Sign in at Yahoo's Account Security page.
  2. Make an app password. Choose Generate and manage app passwords, name it GotEmail and copy the password.
  3. Add the account. In GotEmail choose Add Account, pick Yahoo, type your address and paste the password. Yahoo's servers are filled in for you.
Seeing "Invalid credentials"? That's Yahoo's answer to the account password, even a correct one. GotEmail tells you so in plain words and opens the page where you make an app password.

AOL Mail works the same way

Choose AOL in Add Account, then make an app password on AOL's Account Security page (Generate and manage app passwords) and paste it. AOL's servers are filled in too.

Questions

Why won't my Yahoo password work in a mail app?

Yahoo only lets mail apps in with an app password, never your account password. Typed there, your normal password gets 'invalid credentials' even when it's right. Make an app password and it works.

Does AOL Mail work too?

Yes. AOL is its own choice in Add Account and signs in the same way, with an app password from AOL's Account Security page.

Can I use Yahoo and Gmail together?

Yes. Add as many accounts as you like from any provider; All Inboxes shows them in one list.

Does GotEmail store my Yahoo mail?

No. GotEmail talks to Yahoo's servers directly from your Mac, with no server of ours in between. Your app password stays in your Mac's Keychain.

Every address. One inbox.

GotEmail brings all your email accounts into one fast, private Mac app.
