Turn on IMAP in GMX

  1. Open settings. In GMX's web mail, open the Email tab, then Settings.
  2. Allow POP3 and IMAP. Choose POP3 & IMAP, tick the option for external access, and save.

Use GMX in GotEmail

In GotEmail, choose Add Account, then Other (IMAP), and type the settings from the table: the IMAP and SMTP servers, their ports and encryption, your username and password. GotEmail checks them as you sign in and tells you what to fix if a server says no.

Good to know

  • GMX switches POP3/IMAP access off again if you don't use it for a long time.
  • Your mail app must use TLS 1.2 or 1.3; GMX no longer supports older versions.
