Canary Mail is a mail app for macOS, iOS, Windows and Android, with an AI Copilot on its paid plans and PGP encryption on its top plan. GotEmail is a native Mac app for one person with several addresses, focused on keeping the inbox quick and quiet. If you read mail mostly on a Mac, both will do the job; they put their effort in different places.

Plans and what's in them
Canary splits its features across plans: the free plan covers the unified inbox and unlimited accounts, Growth adds AI, Send Later and calendar tools, and Pro+ adds PGP and phishing protection. GotEmail has one product with every feature on every plan: $6.99 a month, $79 a year, or Lifetime ($79 for the next 100 customers, then $199). One plan covers all your Macs.
Privacy
GotEmail has no server of its own and no account to create. Your mail goes between your Mac and your provider, passwords stay in the macOS Keychain, and remote images and tracking pixels wait for your OK. Only an AI draft or summary leaves your Mac, and only when you ask for one. Every request the app makes is listed in our privacy policy.

Questions
Is GotEmail a good Canary Mail alternative?
If you use Canary on a Mac for several accounts, GotEmail covers the daily work: a unified inbox, AI drafts and summaries, Send Later, Snooze and one-click Unsubscribe. It doesn't offer PGP encryption or apps for other platforms.
Does Canary Mail have a free plan?
Yes. Canary's pricing page lists a free plan with a unified inbox and unlimited accounts, and paid Growth and Pro+ plans billed yearly (as of October 2026).
Which one supports PGP?
Canary Mail's Pro+ plan includes PGP encryption. GotEmail doesn't offer PGP.
Can I use both on my Mac?
Yes. Your mail stays with your provider, so you can add the same accounts to both and try them side by side.
